Day 1: Yangon arrival & half day city sightseeing

  • Afternoon arrival in Yangon. (Itinerary is adjustable with your international arrival flight time)
  • Upon arrival, you will be welcomed by your guide and transferred to your hotel for check in.
  • You will have a chance to freshen up and a short break before taking a tour of Yangon.
  • Your Yangon exploration will begin in the afternoon with a visit to Botataung Pagoda – a famous landmark on Yangon’s waterfront, named after the 1000 military leaders who escorted relics of Buddha to Myanmar from India over 2000 years ago, followed by visits to Nanthida Jetty, a great place to see boats playing back and forth to the small rural town of Dala on the other side of Yangon river. This gives you the opportunity to get a feel for the local lifestyle.
  • Afterwards, take a short walking tour together to feel the colonial essence of downtown Yangon. “Colonial Charm”! The crowded city you see today was once ruled by the British Empire and many Victorian-style buildings have survived the ravages of time and retained their glory. Colonial architecture is visible in large numbers of religious buildings, administrative offices, cinemas and residential properties in downtown Yangon.
  • Your sightseeing continues with a visit to Chaukhtatgyi reclining buddha which houses a 72-meter reclining Buddha statue.
  • Late in the afternoon, pay homage to the famed 2500-year-old ShwedagonePagoda to end your Yangon experience. The great golden dome of Shwedagone Pagoda rises 99 meters above its base and is covered with 60 tons of pure gold. At dusk, watch the sunset view of Yangon. Soft and delightful tinkling sound of the pagoda bells will put your mind at peace. It is believed that if a person wants to avoid bad luck and misfortune, he must pour water at one’s planetary post and he will be ensure of peace of mind and all anxieties will end.
  • Transfer back to your hotel and overnight in Yangon.

Day 2: Yangon – Sittwe

  • Pick up at the hotel. Transfer to Yangon Airport for domestic flight to Sittwe.
  • Transfer to your hotel for check in. After freshen up, head to buzzing local market where fishermen unload their daily fresh catch. All kinds of fish and seafood are available here.
  • Next, visit Payagyi Pagoda which houses a large bronze Buddha of more than 8 tons, and visit Mahabandola Monastery that has an interesting collection of ancient Buddhist statues, silver coins from the Mrauk U era and engraved astrological charts.
  • Then transfer an elevated viewpoint where you can appreciate the sunset over Bay of Bengal.
  • Overnight in Sittwe.

Day 3: Sittwe – Mrauk U

  • After breakfast at hotel, transfer to the jetty where you board your private boat to sail upstream along the wide Kaladan River, bringing the country’s beautiful landscape and rustic lifestyle right to you.
  • Lunch will be served on the boat. The journey on the Kaladan River takes from 5 to 6 hours (depending on boat and river conditions of the day) travelling upstream on the Kaladan River.
  • Upon arrival in Mrauk U, transfer to your hotel for check-in.
  • Enjoy sunset at Shwe Gau Taung Pagoda hill. Back to hotel and overnight in Maruk U.

Day 4: Mrauk U

  • After breakfast at the hotel, drive to Vesali – a Rakhine kingdom founded in the 4th century that prospered for some 400 years. From the ruined city walls and moat, you can easily gauge the size of the former city. You will see the Great Image of Su Taun Prai, a 5-meter sitting Buddha which is said to have been carved out of one single piece of rock.
  • From Wethali, continue towards Mahamuni Pagoda and some other temples of Mrauk U that nestle amongst hills, streams and leafy trees.
  • Visit most famous Shittaung Pagoda, the best preserved Pagoda, and home to some 80,000 Buddha images.
  • Next, move to adjacent Pitaka Taik and Anndaw Thein Temple, an eight sided monument which is smaller than Shittaung pagoda but with a similar linear layout.
  • After that, set off to Dukkanthein “ordination hall”, a construction of sandstone bricks that resembles a huge bunker from the outside. Dukkanthein Pagoda was designed with a spiraling passageway whose images include women sporting the 64 traditional hairstyles of the kingdom.
  • Lastly, visit Laungbankpyauk Pagoda, locally known as “plate Pagoda” because a wall at the front is embedded with plate-like tiles in bright colours.
  • Back to your hotel and overnight in Maruk U.

Day 5: Mrauk U - Chin Tatoo Villages – Mrauk U

  • Breakfast at hotel, visit Mrauk U’s main market and Koe Thaung Temple, at 230ft by 250ft, this massive structure is Mrauk U’s largest pagoda.
  • Continue a boat trip on Lay Myo River to visit Chin villages (approx. 2 ½ hours boat ride) where you can interact with Chin tribe who lives a very basic lifestyle. This boat trip will pass by peanut, chilli or beans farms on islands and on the riverside. The ladies here are very proud of their tattooed faces and their beautiful weaving works. Village visit gives you the opportunity to see the famous Chin tattooed on the faces of elderly women (the practice of tattooing girls’ faces ended a couple of generations ago) and understand some of their customs.
  • Packed lunch will be served. Return by boat (approx. 2 ½ hours) to Mrauk U.
  • Back to your hotel and overnight in Mrauk U.

Day 6: Mrauk U - Sittwe – Yangon

  • Check out from hotel and set off in the morning for a boat trip back Sittwe.
  • Arrive in Sittwe in the afternoon and transfer to the airport for your flight back to Yangon.
  • Yangon arrival and transfer to your hotel for check-in.
  • Overnight in Yangon.

Day 7: Yangon - International Departure



  • Check out from the hotel and head to Yangon domestic airport for your international departure flight.
  • Hope to see you back once again.
